About the role
MacKillop Family Services is seeking a Home-Based Care Support Worker in Wimmera Southwest to assist children and young people, along with their carer families, by providing safe transport to placements, appointments, education, and family visits, supporting their physical and emotional wellbeing, and engaging them in meaningful activities. Reporting to the Home-Based Care Coordinator or Senior Case Manager, you will play a vital role in ensuring safety, confidentiality, and quality care while working collaboratively with carers, families, and colleagues. Classification and salary will be dependent on qualifications and experience.
This is a casual opportunity based in Warrnambool within our Home-Based Care program. The position reports to the Home-Based Care Coordinator/Senior Case Manager.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
•Demonstrated genuine caring for and understanding of working with children.
• Willingness to work collaboratively with children and young people, their carers and birth families maintaining a flexible, tolerant and non-judgmental attitude.
• Excellent interpersonal skills, with a demonstrated capacity to work collaboratively with others and exercise influence in a diversity of contexts.
• Demonstrated effective interpersonal and communication skills.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and a professional approach.
• Demonstrated experience of caring for children and young people independently.
