25-1078: Senior Cloud Database Administrator (Oracle / GCP)

Navitas is seeking an experienced Cloud & Database Administrator that will support enterprise-wide locations and requires expertise in designing, architecting, implementing, and sustaining a highly available Google Cloud Platform (GCP) hosting environment with secure and compliant database administration.

• Administer and manage enterprise-scale computerized databases.

• Design, implement, and maintain databases across client/server environments.

• Forecast and plan long-term database requirements in coordination with other IT leaders.

• Perform database programming, performance tuning, validation checks, and security controls.

• Recommend and manage database access strategies for on-prem and cloud environments.

• Conduct quality control and auditing of databases to ensure data integrity and compliance.

• Design databases with focus on performance, JCL, access methods, device allocation, documentation, and protection.

• Maintain database dictionaries, procedures, file design standards, and system integration via database design.

• Apply SQL and programming knowledge to support database development and automation efforts.

• Troubleshoot database performance issues and implement optimizing strategies.

• 5+ years working with SQL-based query languages (Oracle, PL/SQL, SQL Server)

• 3+ years hands-on experience with Relational Database Management Systems (RDBMS)

• Experience working with large-scale enterprise databases in operational/secure environments

• 5+ years supporting DoW IT hosting solutions

• Expertise with Oracle 19c+ database technologies including:

  • Installation & configuration

  • Performance tuning

  • Backup & recovery (RMAN)

  • Security & monitoring (OEM 13c)

  • Virtual/cloud-based environments

• Proficiency working in Linux/Unix (RHEL8+) including scripting & system administration

• Experience with Oracle RAC, Data Guard, HA solutions

• Ability to diagnose and remediate performance issues

• Knowledge of network fundamentals, VPNs, encryption, firewalls, IP configuration

• Experience with cloud providers (GCP, Azure, AWS, OCI)

• Ability to implement automation via scripting languages

• Proficient in managing SQL Server (2016+) migrations and compatibility settings

• Experience with cloud-native database deployments and distributed replication

• Security+ or IAT II certification

• Google Cloud Certifications (at least one):

  • Google Associate Cloud Engineer

  • Google Professional Cloud Architect

• Current DBA Certification under “Server Admin” / “DBA Admin” function

• Secret Clearance

• Prior support of DLA or DoW agencies

• Strong communication skills with ability to collaborate across technical and leadership teams

• Proven ability to handle high-pressure environments and critical incidents

• Experience implementing load balancing, redundancy, and distributed data strategies
