Introduction and Representative Duties

POSITION OVERVIEW
CM/ECF is the judiciary's Case Management/Electronic Case Filing system. We are seeking a highly skilled and proactive systems administrator to support the mission-critical Case Management system that operates on Red Hat Enterprise Linux (RHEL) servers and Informix databases. This role is essential to ensuring the reliability and performance of our case management infrastructure, while also contributing to reporting, scripting, and automation efforts. This position may be eligible for full-time remote work from within the contiguous United States, depending on experience and qualifications. 

This position is located in the consolidated Systems Technology Division of the Clerk's Office, United States District Court, District of Arizona and reports to the Systems Division Manager.  The CM/ECF Administrator will serve as one of the principal operational administrators of the CM/ECF system. This position provides knowledge and assistance in developing and implementing procedures needed to ensure continuous improvement in system functionality, and to maintain the court's CM/ECF system and related automated tools.

The CM/ECF Administrator performs professional work related to designing, modifying, and adapting existing software for the court's Case Management/Electronic Case Files system (CM/ECF), as well as other national and locally developed applications. 

REPRESENTATIVE DUTIES
  • Administer, monitor, and troubleshoot issues on multiple RHEL servers with Informix databases.
  • Support and troubleshoot issues related to the case management application and related processes.
  • Develop and maintain SQL scripts for data extraction, transformation, and reporting.
  • Collaborate with developers and analysts to implement enhancements and resolve application issues.
  • Apply system and application upgrades, patches
  • Participate in the change management process.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Occupational Information

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
To qualify at the CL 28 level, the applicant must have two years specialized experience, including at least one year equivalent to work at the next lower level (CL 27).
 
Specialized experience is progressively responsible experience designing, implementing or maintaining computer systems that included the completion of computer project assignments involving systems analysis, computer programming, systems integration, and information technology project management.
 
Education at the master's degree level or two years of graduate study may be substituted for required specialized experience if obtained in a field closely related to the subject matter of the position.
 
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
  • Strong Red Hat Enterprise Linux administration experience.
  • Proficiency in Informix SQL database management or Microsoft SQL database management.
  • Proficiency with SQL scripting
  • Hands-on experience with Crystal Reports development and customization or similar reporting tools.
  • Working knowledge of JavaScript and Perl.
  • Familiarity with Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools.
  • Familiarity with case management systems or similar enterprise applications.
  • Ability to diagnose and resolve complex technical issues independently.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or related field (or equivalent experience).

 The position is subject to the mandatory electronic fund transfer (EFT) participation for payment of net pay (i.e. Direct Deposit). 
Non-citizens may be interviewed and considered for employment, but employment offers will only be made to individuals who qualify under one of the exceptions in 8 U.S.C. §1324b(a)(3)(B). In most cases, this means that an offer of employment cannot be made unless the candidate is a lawful permanent resident who is seeking U.S. citizenship as explained below. Non-citizens who have not been permanent residents for five years will be required to execute an affidavit that they intend to apply for citizenship when they become eligible to do so.
