Field Marketing & Events Project Manager (Remote - South Africa)

About the Role

We are a growing employee experience platform seeking a highly organized and technologically savvy Field Marketing & Events Project Manager. This role is the operational backbone for our event program across the UK and the wider EMEA region.

This position requires a true "herding cats" type of professional—someone who thrives on complex coordination, manages multiple internal and external systems (like HubSpot and Salesforce), and can maintain a high number of plates in the air simultaneously. You will report to the Head of Events and serve as the essential project manager for the entire marketing event space, ensuring flawless execution from planning to post-event reporting.

Key Responsibilities

Project Management & Operational Coordination

  • End-to-End Event Execution: Own the full event cycle, particularly for UK trade shows: pre-show planning, on-site coordination, teardown, and follow-up.

  • System Integration: Utilize, or quickly master, essential marketing and CRM tools including HubSpot and Salesforce for lead capture, reporting, and follow-up alignment. Familiarity with smaller project management tools like Monday.com is also highly valued.

  • Logistics Management: Manage all physical logistics: shipping, booth assets, collateral, swag, lead scanners, vendor coordination, and securing show services.

  • Cross-Functional Alignment: Serve as the marketing point person on site, aligning sales, managing vendors, and ensuring all schedules are on track and issues are troubleshot in real-time. This requires a high degree of coordination and tech-savviness.

Reporting, Data & Finance

  • Lead Quality & Handoff: Qualify and capture leads on site, ensure timely, agreed-upon handoff to sales, and align on the definition of a "good lead."

  • Budget Tracking: Track budgets and expenses, reconcile invoices, and maintain clear cost-to-pipeline visibility and ROI signals.

  • Event Outcomes: Report event results (leads, meetings, conversations, and ROI) with clear, data-driven recommendations on future participation.

Global Coordination & Travel

  • EMEA Coordination: Coordinate field programs across the EMEA region (Europe, Africa, etc.) that do not require travel, such as executive dinners, small activations, and partner co-hosted events (venue sourcing, reservations).

  • Travel Requirement: Must be able to travel from South Africa to the UK three times per year during event seasons (typically March–June and September–November) for on-site management.

  • Internal Communication: Report directly to Brittany, who will streamline communication up to leadership. You will collaborate regularly with the broader marketing and sales teams across various time zones.

Required Skills & Profile

  • Experience: 3 to 5 years in field marketing, events, or closely related marketing operations/project management.

  • Project Management Excellence: Demonstrated success in complex coordination, managing timelines, checklists, run-of-show documentation, owner assignment, and status reporting.

  • Systems Savvy (MUST HAVE): Ability to work within and coordinate across HubSpot and Salesforce (or similar CRM/MAP tools).

  • Trade Show Expertise: Proven hands-on experience with trade show logistics, booth builds, vendor management, and on-site problem solving.

  • Communication: Clear, confident, and professional communication with sales teams, leadership, and external partners.

  • Adaptability: Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where coordination and troubleshooting are constant.

  • Financial Acumen: Basic finance skills for PO creation, cost tracking, and post-event reconciliation.

Work Setup

  • Location: Remote from South Africa with required travel.

  • Employment Type: Full-time contractor or direct independent contractor engagement.

  • Travel: Expect two to three trips to the UK during busy event windows, with additional remote coordination for EMEA activities.
