About the Role:
We are seeking a Financial Aid Support Representative to provide hands-on assistance to prospective and enrolled students as they complete their financial aid requirements. This is a temporary support role (up to 6 months) designed to help reduce processing backlogs and ensure students stay on track for enrollment and funding.
In this role, you’ll guide students step-by-step through FAFSA completion and related requirements via remote and/or in-person sessions, while working closely with Admissions and Financial Aid teams.
Compensation: $24-$28hr
What You’ll Do
- Conduct scheduled virtual (Zoom/Microsoft Teams) and in-person sessions to assist students with:
- FAFSA completion
- FSA ID creation and troubleshooting
- Contributor (parent/spouse) setup
- Master Promissory Notes (MPN)
- Entrance Counseling
- Proactively outreach to students with incomplete financial aid requirements via phone and email
- Schedule and confirm appointments and follow-ups
- Track student progress and document all interactions accurately in internal systems
- Coordinate closely with Admissions and Financial Aid teams to ensure timely funding completion
- Identify and escalate issues related to verification, missing documentation, or eligibility concerns
- Maintain compliance with FERPA and institutional policies
- Support team goals related to outreach volume, completion rates, and student readiness
Additional Responsibilities
- Assist with Exit Counseling outreach and tracking
- Support financial aid communications such as reminders, deadlines, and required notices
- Help during peak processing periods and special financial aid initiatives
What We’re Looking For
Required:
- High School Diploma or equivalent
- 2–3 years of experience in Higher Education Financial Aid
- Strong working knowledge of FAFSA, verification processes, and federal aid regulations
- Excellent communication skills with a patient, student-centered approach
- Ability to multitask, work independently, and maintain attention to detail
Preferred:
- Certified Financial Aid Administrator (CFA)
- Experience working in virtual student support environments
Technical Requirements
- Reliable high-speed internet
- Laptop or desktop with webcam and microphone
- Comfort using Microsoft Office, Zoom/Microsoft Teams, and web-based systems such as studentaid.gov
- Experience with databases or CRM systems (Salesforce a plus)
