Job Summary:
As a key leader within our centralized HR function, the HR Operations Manager plays a vital role in advancing the efficiency, consistency, and effectiveness of our people operations across the team member lifecycle. This position leads a well-established team focused on day-to-day HR case management and serves as a strategic partner in shaping scalable solutions for a growing organization. With our organization continuing to grow and evolve in structure, this leader will focus primarily on optimization and expanding service offerings—enhancing service delivery, refining processes, and influencing the team member experience at every touchpoint.

In this role, you will:

  • Manage and mentor a centralized HR Core Team, ensuring high-quality service delivery across onboarding, team member changes, offboarding, and other lifecycle events with supporting disciplines.
  • Serve as the first point of escalation for HR case management, supporting resolution of complex or sensitive matters and ensuring consistency in practice.
  • Optimize existing processes and lead continuous improvement initiatives aimed at increasing automation, reducing case cycle time, and enhancing data accuracy.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional HR leaders (Recruiting, Training & Development, Payroll, etc.) to align HR service delivery with enterprise-wide initiatives and priorities.
  • Partner with HR Systems and other stakeholders to optimize UKG Pro modules and reporting tools, ensuring configurations evolve with business needs.
  • Develop and manage dashboards and reporting to track team KPIs, monitor caseload trends, and inform leadership of progress against goals.
  • Maintain documentation, templates, and knowledge base content to support HR team adoption and compliance with standard processes.
  • Act as a process owner and advocate for scalable solutions that ensure compliance, improve experience, and support growth.

You will be a great fit if you:

  • Lead with curiosity and a solutions-oriented mindset; you ask "how can we make this better for everyone?" regularly.
  • Have a knack for balancing detail with big-picture thinking—and can shift between the two fluidly.
  • Thrive in dynamic environments, especially those navigating change or rapid growth.
  • Enjoy empowering others to do their best work while also rolling up your sleeves when needed.
  • Communicate effectively across all levels and are skilled in managing both people and projects.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Educational Background: Bachelor’s or master’s degree in HR, Organizational Psychology, Business, or related field.
  • Experience: 5+ years of experience managing a centralized HR Operation or Shared HR Services team required
    • Demonstrated experience leading people or teams, especially within a virtual environment
    • Proven success managing HR workflows, case systems, and service delivery metrics
    • Proven experience leading teams in a virtual environment, managing HR workflows, and driving consistent service delivery in a centralized model
    • Prior experience in the AEC industry or professional services strongly preferred
  • Skills:
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; advanced Excel skills (e.g., pivot tables, vlookups, dashboards) required
    • Strong knowledge of HRIS platforms; experience with UKG Pro (UltiPro) highly preferred
    • Excellent project management skills, with the ability to manage competing priorities and lead cross-functional initiatives
    • High emotional intelligence, excellent judgment, and strong interpersonal and executive communication skills

Location: Remote – flexible U.S. home base
Travel: Minimal, with occasional team or leadership meetings anticipated
