You will manage social media channels, create compelling content, and amplify partner campaigns across an international network of organizations.
The role combines hands-on content production with strategic digital campaigning, audience engagement, and coalition coordination.
You will translate complex topics into accessible narratives designed to engage the public and increase pressure on influential industry decision-makers.
Working closely with campaign leadership and partners across multiple countries and time zones, you will help coordinate communications around major campaign moments and emerging opportunities.
This is a highly collaborative, remote, and mission-driven role where creativity, responsiveness, and strong judgment can directly contribute to campaign impact.
The initial engagement is part-time for six months, with potential for renewal or increased hours depending on funding and organizational needs.

Accountabilities:

  • Manage and grow social media channels, particularly LinkedIn and Instagram, maintaining a consistent publishing cadence and engaging digital presence.
  • Create and coordinate a range of digital content, including social posts, graphics briefs, short-form videos, campaign explainers, blogs, website content, and other communications materials.
  • Develop and maintain editorial and publishing calendars across multiple campaign workstreams and channels.
  • Collaborate with designers, creative agencies, content producers, and campaign partners to deliver high-quality communications assets.
  • Monitor digital trends, identify opportunities for increased visibility and engagement, and recommend timely content and campaign tactics.
  • Support relevant paid digital advertising activities, including audience targeting and campaign execution where appropriate.
  • Track social media and digital performance metrics and use insights to improve content effectiveness, reach, and audience growth.
  • Coordinate communications with partners across multiple working groups, identifying content opportunities, upcoming campaign moments, and amplification needs.
  • Amplify partner actions, reports, events, media moments, and campaign activities through coalition channels while maintaining consistent messaging and narratives.
  • Support shared communications planning around major campaign milestones and coordinate competing priorities across multiple stakeholders.
  • Manage website content updates, including publishing blogs, reports, statements, press releases, and campaign materials.
  • Contribute to digital campaign strategy for priority targets and campaign moments, including petitions, supporter mobilization, online actions, and other advocacy tactics.
  • Support communications around policy announcements, corporate decisions, annual general meetings, reports, days of action, and other high-profile moments.
  • Work with campaign leads to identify opportunities where digital communications can strengthen public engagement and increase pressure on campaign targets.
  • Provide rapid-response communications support during important media and campaign moments.
  • Contribute to broader campaign objectives by producing timely, creative, and strategically aligned digital communications.

Requirements:

  • Demonstrated experience managing social media channels for advocacy, campaigning, nonprofit, social impact, or other mission-driven organizations.
  • Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills, with the ability to make complex subjects clear, accessible, and persuasive for different audiences.
  • Experience creating and adapting content across multiple digital channels and audience segments.
  • Understanding of digital campaigning, public mobilization, audience engagement, and narrative-change strategies.
  • Experience coordinating communications across multiple stakeholders, partners, working groups, or organizations.
  • Ability to work independently, manage competing priorities, and respond quickly and thoughtfully to emerging opportunities.
  • Excellent organizational skills and strong attention to detail, particularly when coordinating multiple campaign moments and content streams.
  • Experience working remotely with international teams, partners, and stakeholders across different time zones.
  • Excellent written English communication skills.
  • A strong interest in advocacy, campaigning, social impact, or communications-led change, with the ability to quickly develop knowledge of insurance and related campaign issues.
  • Experience with climate, environmental, corporate accountability, or social justice campaigns is a strong advantage.
  • Experience creating short-form video content for social media is desirable.
  • Experience developing content for professional audiences on LinkedIn or similar platforms is a plus.
  • Familiarity with digital advertising, audience targeting, website management, content management systems, or digital analytics is beneficial.
  • Experience supporting coalition-based campaigns involving multiple partner organizations is an advantage.
  • Knowledge of the insurance industry, fossil fuel finance, climate policy, or related topics is helpful but not required.
  • Experience working across international advocacy networks and multiple time zones is valuable.
  • Additional language skills, particularly French, Spanish, or Bahasa, are a plus.

Benefits:

  • Part-time remote contractor position for an initial 6-month period.
  • Potential for contract renewal and/or increased hours, subject to funding and organizational needs.
  • Flexible remote working environment spanning time zones from Europe to India.
  • Competitive compensation based on experience, seniority, and location.
  • As a reference point, the role pays approximately €35–€40 per hour in Italy, with compensation adjusted for local currency and market rates in other regions.
  • Opportunity to work on high-impact digital communications and advocacy campaigns with an international coalition.
  • Meaningful autonomy and the opportunity to shape digital communications strategy, content, and campaign visibility.
