14324 – Solar Project Engineer (remote) – Juno Beach, FL

Start Date: ASAP
Type: Temporary Project
Estimated Duration: 12+ months with possible extensions
Work Setting: Remote. Travel to Juno will be required, more frequently during the first 3-6 months in the role

Required:
• Experience leading engineering teams and providing oversight for major energy infrastructure projects (15+ years)
• Engineering experience (5+ years)
• Experience outside of the power industry (aerospace, civil/stormwater, etc)
• Experience performing engineering assignments across multiple disciplines (electrical, mechanical, civil/structural, valve engineering).
• Bachelor of Science in Engineering. Discipline can be electrical, civil, mechanical, aerospace or chemical.

Preferred:
• Experience with engineering and project management on utility scale solar projects
• Experience with DG/commercial solar, wind, BESS, combined cycle, nuclear, hydrogen, substation or transmission.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to the following:
Plan, organize, and manage engineering projects across multiple disciplines, ensuring alignment with cost, reliability, and performance goals.
Provide oversight and leadership to engineering teams, supervising design development, permitting, and compliance activities for energy infrastructure projects.
Conduct technical analysis, project coordination, and engineering oversight with a focus on utility‑scale solar, battery energy storage systems (BESS), and power plant operations.
Perform specialized engineering functions as required, including Electrical/I&C, Mechanical, Civil/Structural, and MOV Valve engineering.
Support detailed technical assessments, engineering design reviews, and compliance verifications to ensure regulatory and safety standards are met.
Assist with project management activities such as negotiations, performance tracking, reporting, and stakeholder coordination.
Bridge the gap between conceptual engineering and field execution, applying best practices to ensure long‑term performance and reliability of designs.

• Experience reviewing PV designs, studies, and drawings for technical compliance;
• Experience managing EORs, EPCs, and technical consultants on engineering deliverables;
• Experience writing and reviewing technical Scopes of Work;
• Experience ensuring adherence to AHJ requirements and industry technical standards;
• Experience providing value engineering solutions for PV projects;
• Experience supporting technical due diligence for project financing;
• Experience leading technical discussions with Transmission Owners and ISOs;
• Experience supporting construction activities and answering RFIs;

Responsibilities:
• Leading and managing PV projects from interconnection through permitting and construction while ensuring schedule, budget, and quality objectives are met.
• Managing EORs, EPCs, and consultants, writing and managing Scopes of Work, and participating in contract negotiations.
• Conducting comprehensive reviews of engineering designs, project plans, and system specifications to ensure compliance with standards and customer requirements.
• Coordinating and collaborating with internal and external stakeholders and overseeing project documentation to ensure compliance with industry standards.
• Identifying and mitigating project risks, supporting project financing due diligence, and providing value engineering solutions to reduce cost.
• Providing technical expertise and guidance to team members and communicating project status and updates to stakeholders.
• Leading conversations with Transmission Owners and ISOs to support technical requirements and supporting construction teams by answering RFIs.
