The annual compensation for this position will be $175K – 285K. Actual compensation may vary based on geographic location, education, skills, and experience.

Summary

The Support Assistant to the CEO is a senior executive-level position that serves as the CEO’s strategic right hand, managing their priorities, overseeing key initiatives, and ensuring alignment across the organization. This role is critical in translating the CEO’s vision into actionable plans, maintaining operational efficiency, and acting as a trusted advisor and liaison between the executive team and other stakeholders. This role is pivotal in ensuring the CEO’s priorities are executed effectively, the executive team operates cohesively, and the organization remains aligned with its strategic direction. This role demands both strategic vision and operational execution skills, making it a high-impact position at Owens & Minor. 

 

Core Responsibilities:   

  • Strategic Support: Assist the CEO in developing and executing the company’s strategic plan, setting objectives, and monitoring progress. Drives business execution by ensuring milestones, deliverables, and financial targets are met. Remove roadblocks and align teams to support strategic initiatives. 

  • Performance Monitoring: Track KPIs, Annual Operating Plan (AOP), and other accountability systems to measure initiative effectiveness  

  • Operational Oversight: Oversee day-to-day operations to ensure alignment with strategic goals, including managing the CEO’s time and priorities. Maintain operating rhythms such as regular business reviews, leadership meetings, and KPI tracking. 

  • Project Management: Lead and coordinate major cross-functional projects, ensuring timely delivery and alignment with business objectives  

  • Communication & Liaison: Serve as the primary point of contact between the CEO and other executives, departments, and external stakeholders; represent the CEO in meetings and communications. Prepare briefing materials and executive presentations, ensuring clear, timely, and datadriven decision support.  

  • Reporting: Prepare comprehensive reports, presentations, and briefings for the CEO and executive team  

  • Leadership & Coordination: Facilitate leadership meetings, set agendas, and follow up on action items; coordinate executive team activities  

  • Special Projects: Manage initiatives the CEO cannot personally execute due to bandwidth, such as market assessments, M&A due diligence, or new market entry analysis  

  • Governance & Processes: Help develop and maintain organizational governance frameworks, decision rights, and escalation paths  

Qualifying Experience:   

  • Education:Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Management, or a related field; MBA or advanced degree preferred  

  • Preferred Experience: 5+ years in senior management, strategy, project management, or executive support roles  

  • Skills: Strong strategic thinking, organizational skills, stakeholder management, problem-solving, and the ability to handle confidential information with discretion  

  • Tools: Proficiency in project management tools, data analysis platforms, and executive communications software
