Location: Remote – U.S. (Eastern business hours)

Are you a detail-oriented professional who enjoys coordinating technical projects, solving problems, and learning new systems? Do you have experience working with engineering drawings, construction documents, permitting, or technical project administration?

We have an attractive opportunity for you!

Sigma Technologies is seeking a Technical Project Administrator – Power to support engineering and design programs for major electric utilities. We're looking for someone who can understand technical drawings, manage project information accurately, communicate effectively, and adapt as project needs change. Experience with CAD software is valuable, but advanced drafting skills are not required.

ABOUT THIS OPPORTUNITY

As a Technical Project Administrator, you will support electric utility engineering projects by preparing technical work packages, maintaining project data, coordinating permitting activities, and ensuring information is accurately organized and communicated across project teams.

You'll work closely with Field Technicians, Designers, Engineers, and Supervisors to help move projects efficiently from initial preparation through completion.

Your responsibilities will evolve as you develop new skills. You'll initially focus on project package preparation, with opportunities to expand into permitting, right-of-way research, project closeouts, and other utility engineering support activities.

This is not a repetitive administrative position. Our teams support multiple utility programs with changing priorities, so adaptability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn are essential to success.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO

  • Project Package Preparation: Prepare and organize technical work packages for field and engineering teams, including work orders, utility pole information, project routes, maps, and supporting documentation.
  • Technical Drawing Interpretation: Read and interpret engineering drawings, CAD prints, maps, and other technical documents to understand project scope and support accurate project preparation.
  • Project Data Management: Enter, organize, review, and maintain project information across Excel, QuickBase, Katapult, and other utility-specific systems, with training provided on unfamiliar platforms.
  • Permitting & Right-of-Way Coordination: Research permitting requirements, public records, easements, and right-of-way information; communicate with municipalities and other authorities to support timely permit processing.
  • Project Tracking & Documentation: Monitor work orders, permits, project milestones, and deliverables while maintaining accurate records and supporting established production and quality expectations.
  • Quality Control: Review technical and administrative documentation for accuracy, completeness, and consistency; identify discrepancies and work with project teams to resolve issues.
  • Team Communication: Coordinate with Engineers, Designers, Supervisors, Field Technicians, clients, and external agencies to ensure information is communicated accurately and project activities remain on track.
  • Project Closeout: Assist with organizing, reviewing, and submitting completed project documentation, including PDFs, technical records, and required deliverables.
  • Cross-Training & Continuous Improvement: Learn new software, processes, and project functions while adapting to changing workloads and supporting additional utility programs as needed.
  • Other projects and operational duties as assigned.

WHY THIS ROLE IS A GREAT OPPORTUNITY

  • Remote Work: Work remotely after completing the required initial two-week paid, in-person orientation and training in Perrysburg, Ohio.
  • Technical Skill Development: Gain experience with engineering systems, project documentation, permitting, and utility-specific workflows.
  • Variety in Your Work: Support different types of electric utility projects rather than performing the same administrative tasks every day.
  • Career Growth: Develop additional technical and project coordination skills through cross-training, with opportunities to progress into more advanced responsibilities.
  • Collaborative Environment: Work alongside experienced technical professionals who value teamwork, accuracy, and continuous learning.
