Job Description and Responsibilities:

 

The Vice President of Human Resources (VP of HR) serves as a senior HR leader responsible for providing operationalizing and executing the enterprise human capital strategy established by the SVP of HR.  This role provides day-to-day leadership across core HR functions, ensuring delivery of compliant, scalable, and business-aligned HR programs and support organizational group, workforce readiness, and risk mitigation.

This individual partners closely with executive leadership team and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure HR operations and effectively support business operations, organizational effectiveness, and employee engagement.  This positions functions as the principal deputy to the SVP of HR, translating enterprise strategy into executable policies, processes and workforce initiatives.

 

Reports to: Senior Vice President of Human Resources

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead and oversee all core HR functions including talent acquisition, employee relations, compensation and benefits, performance management, training and development, and compliance.
  • Manage investigations, disciplinary actions, and performance improvement process.
  • Oversee the design, development, and implementation of innovative HR programs, policies, and practices that drive employee satisfaction and retention.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Drive leadership development programs and workforce planning initiatives to support current and future business needs.
  • Oversee the management of HR technology systems (HRIS), ensuring data integrity, reporting, and functionality to support business needs.
  • Lead organizational change efforts and communication strategies to support company growth, restructuring, or strategic pivots.
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a high-performing HR team, promoting a culture of continuous learning and operational excellence.
  • Support OFCCP, EEO, AAP, VETS-4212, and other regulatory reporting requirements.
  • Partner with Regulatory Affairs and executive leadership to mitigate workforce-related risk.
  • Serve as the company’s subject matter expert for human resources best practices and trends, proactively advising leadership on emerging HR issues.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Responsibilities

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree or HR certification (e.g., SHRM-SCP, SPHR) preferred.
  • 12–15+ years of progressive HR leadership experience, with at least 5 years at the senior executive level (e.g., Director, VP).
  • Proven experience leading HR strategy in complex, dynamic environments (experience in Government Contracting industry or 500+ employee organization preferred).
  • Strong understanding of employment law, HR best practices, and organizational development.
  • Demonstrated experience building and scaling HR operations and infrastructure.
  • Excellent leadership, interpersonal, and communication skills, with the ability to influence at all levels of the organization.
  • Highly strategic thinker with a hands-on, results-oriented approach.
  • High level of integrity, professionalism, and discretion in handling confidential information.
  • Experience with HR technology platforms (TriNet) and systems implementation is highly desirable.

 

Physical Requirements:

 

Work may involve sitting or standing for extended periods of time. Position may require typing and reading from a computer screen. Must have enough mobility, including but not limited to bending, reaching, and kneeling to complete daily duties in a timely and efficient manner. May include lifting weigh up to thirty (30) pounds, as necessary. 

 

Location/Work Schedule:

 

This is a remote work-from-home position. While the role offers flexibility, the Vice President of Human Resources is expected to be available during standard business hours and maintain a dedicated workspace. Occasionally, this position may require support outside of regular hours, including early mornings or evenings, to meet critical deadlines or business needs. Periodic travel may be required to support business needs, leadership meetings, government engagements, or on-site employee matters.

 

Salary Range:

 

$185,000 -$220,000

USD $185,000.00 - USD $220,000.00 /Yr.
