Recruitment for an independent Board Chair and Chief Executive Officer is currently underway, with additional leadership and operational roles to be advertised in the coming weeks. Independent operations are expected to commence on or around 1 October 2026, subject to funding body approvals. About the role
Role Type: Permanent, Part-time
Classification: SCHADS Level 4
Location: Hybrid or remote

We have two part-time Intake and Administration Officer positions available, each working 0.8 FTE.
In this role, you will be a welcoming first point of contact for clients, stakeholders and community members. You will manage phone and email enquiries, complete initial intake processes, provide information about services and referral pathways, coordinate appointments and referrals, and support clients who may be distressed or vulnerable. You will also provide administrative support to the Services Team, including maintaining accurate client records, managing shared inboxes, preparing documentation, and supporting meetings, events and service activities.
We are looking for someone who is warm, professional and approachable, with strong communication, active listening and interpersonal skills. You will be confident managing challenging conversations, responding calmly to distressed clients and maintaining appropriate professional boundaries. A respectful, non-judgemental and culturally sensitive approach is important, along with strong organisation, attention to detail and accurate record keeping. You will also need resilience when working with challenging or confronting content and the ability to work collaboratively as part of a team.
About you
You may be a recent graduate looking to build your experience in the family violence sector, or someone with experience working with people who use family violence. You will have an understanding of family violence, including the gendered nature of violence against women and children, and an interest in working with adults who use violence to support accountability and meaningful change.
You will be a calm, respectful and non-judgemental communicator who can build rapport while maintaining clear professional boundaries. You will be comfortable engaging with people who may be distressed, angry or emotionally heightened, and able to respond with confidence while maintaining a focus on safety and accountability.
You will bring strong interpersonal, organisational and administrative skills, with the ability to listen carefully, gather information and recognise when concerns need to be escalated. You will be committed to working in a way that is respectful, culturally responsive and consistent with a gendered understanding of family violence.
You will have strong verbal and written communication and literacy skills, along with confidence using computers and learning new systems, including client management systems.
