Summary:
The Human Resources Lead will play a pivotal role in shaping the workforce within the Health & Safety sector in Australia. This position is essential for fostering a positive workplace culture, ensuring compliance with employment legislation, and implementing effective HR strategies that align with the organisation’s goals. The successful candidate will be instrumental in driving employee engagement and supporting the overall mission of promoting health and safety in the workplace.
Who we are seeking:
- We are seeking a dedicated HR Lead to manage our employee lifecycle and ensure our workforce remains compliant with NDIS and Child Safety standards.
- You are an expert in HR systems, specifically Employment Hero and Shiftcare, ensuring seamless integration between payroll and rostering.
- You have a passion for compliance and a meticulous eye for detail, particularly regarding NDIS competencies and “Hope and Healing” certifications.
- You are a brilliant communicator who can manage sensitive disciplinary processes with a progressive, supportive approach.
- You lead by example, ensuring all staff files are accurate, visa registers are updated, and onboarding is completed with 100% compliance.
- You are an excellent multitasker capable of meeting strict fortnightly payroll deadlines and managing ongoing projects like performance review cycles

The successful candidate will meet the following criteria:
- Proven experience in an HR leadership or senior specialist role within the NDIS or Community Services sector.
- Demonstrated ability to manage recruitment, onboarding, and the casual-to-permanent conversion process.
- Deep understanding of the SCHADS Award and Fair Work disciplinary procedures.
- Experience managing mandatory competencies and training modules (e.g., Hope and Healing, NDIS Code of Conduct).
- Ability to conduct VEVO, AHPRA, and National Police Checks to ensure worker screening compliance.
- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
- A minimum of 3-5 years of experience in a human resources role, preferably within the health and safety sector.
- Strong knowledge of employment legislation and health and safety regulations.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
- Proficient in HR software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to handle sensitive information with confidentiality and professionalism.
