The HR Manager plays a key role in shaping and supporting HR operations across multiple sites. This position partners closely with HR & site leadership to deliver hands-on HR support and strategic guidance in compliance, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, and organizational development. The ideal candidate is bilingual (English/Spanish), self-motivated, and thrives in a fast-paced, collaborative environment.


Responsibilities:

Strategic HR Leadership & Compliance

  • Partner with site management teams to align HR strategy with operational goals and ensure legal compliance across all states.
  • Maintain compliant and accurate employee records, while overseeing HR processes, audits, and programs (OSHA, IIPP, DOT, FMLA, harassment prevention, etc.).
  • Keep current with state and federal labor laws, guiding site leadership through compliance updates and best practices.
  • Collaborate with HR leadership to improve and modernize HR policies, procedures, and documentation across all subsidiaries.


Talent Management, Onboarding & Retention

  • Support full-cycle recruitment, ensuring a seamless and engaging candidate experience.
  • Deliver onboarding programs that foster connection, clarity, and excitement for new hires.
  • Partner with site leadership to ensure successful offboarding and employee transitions.
  • Help identify workforce needs, succession plans, and retention strategies that align with long-term growth.


Employee Relations, Engagement & Culture

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to employees and managers, offering practical HR guidance that balances empathy with compliance.
  • Lead initiatives that strengthen culture, connection, and communication across all teams.
  • Support and coach site leaders on employee relations issues, performance conversations, and conflict resolution.
  • Champion programs that build engagement and reinforce our people-first values.


Compensation, Benefits & Payroll Coordination

  • Collaborate with the corporate HR team on payroll, benefits, and compensation planning.
  • Provide employee support on benefits, leave administration, and general payroll inquiries.
  • Help ensure consistency and compliance in pay practices and benefits administration across all sites.


Training, Development & Safety

  • Coordinate and track training programs, certifications, and safety requirements (OSHA, DOT, DOL, etc.).
  • Partner with field and safety leadership to reinforce Cal-OSHA compliance and maintain a safe, informed workforce.
  • Support leadership development and professional growth initiatives across all teams.


Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Provide HR guidance and backup support for other company sites during absences or high-volume periods.
  • Participate in projects that enhance HR operations, compliance, and employee experience company-wide.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • In lieu of a degree, 5+ years of recent HR Manager experience will be considered.
  • With a degree; a minimum of 3 years of HR experience, with at least 2 years in an HR management or consulting role.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws, payroll, and compliance.
  • Experience with HRIS (BambooHR preferred) and applicant tracking systems.
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
  • Experience in roofing, construction, or home services preferred.
  • PHR, SPHR, SHRM-CP, or SHRM-SCP certifications a plus.
  • Must be Bilingual (English/Spanish) 


Work Environment

  • 100% Remote (must have reliable internet and a quiet workspace)
  • Full-time
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Flexibility in working hours to meet business needs.
