Position: Rippling Software Administrator

Position Location: Remote - work virtually from anywhere in the United States

JOB SUMMARY

The Rippling Software Administrator is an experienced technical professional responsible for designing, developing, implementing, and supporting integrations and custom solutions within the Rippling platform. This role supports enterprise HR, payroll, benefits, and workforce management operations through scalable, secure, and maintainable software solutions.


Operating in a fast-paced, results-driven environment, the Rippling Software Administrator collaborates with HR leadership, IT stakeholders, and third-party vendors to translate business requirements into effective technical solutions that support HR operations. This role partners with the broader HR organization to identify, design, and implement system enhancements and process improvements that strengthen system efficiency, data integrity, and overall user experience.


The Rippling Software Administrator will receive limited direction on day-to-day work and general instruction on new projects or assignments.  Will execute and assist project leadership on projects of complex scope.  Will work independently or under limited supervision.


This person will communicate and operate in line with organizational goals and values, as well as departmental objectives.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Rippling Platform Ownership & Optimization

  • Serve as the primary technical owner of the Rippling platform, driving post-migration stabilization, optimization, and continuous improvement.
  • Assess the current Rippling configuration and quickly identify opportunities to tighten workflows, approval processes, automations, reporting, and data architecture.
  • Own HRIS governance including access controls, data security, audit readiness, and change management standards across the Rippling platform.
  • Apply Rippling best practices to mature the platform and ensure it is fully leveraged across HR operations.

HR Workflows, Automations & Approvals

  • Design, build, and refine complex HR workflows, conditional logic, and dynamic approval paths to improve efficiency, consistency, scalability, and data integrity.
  • Develop and maintain advanced automations to reduce manual effort, improve data accuracy, and enhance the end-user experience.
  • Partner with HR team members across functional areas to understand process needs and translate them into effective system solutions.

Reporting, Data Architecture & Insights

  • Architect and optimize Rippling data structures, reporting frameworks, and dashboards to support operational insight, compliance, and leadership decision-making.
  • Ensure data integrity and consistency across modules, integrations, and reporting outputs.
  • Support ad hoc and recurring reporting needs for HR leadership and business stakeholders.

Collaboration & Technical Support

  • Collaborate with HR leadership, IT stakeholders, and third-party vendors to support integrations, data flows, and system governance.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve complex platform, integration, and data-related issues, serving as an escalation point for Rippling-related challenges.

Technology, Digital Tools & AI-Enabled Efficiency

  • Leverage AI-enabled and digital tools to enhance efficiency, reduce manual effort, and support consistent, high-quality work output.
  • Identify opportunities to improve processes and demonstrate a continuous learning mindset, seeking out new technologies, skills, and methods that elevate individual and team performance.
  • Adapt to emerging technologies and evolving digital workflows, actively supporting the integration and adoption of innovative tools across the organization.

Completion of Assigned Tasks and Deliverables on Time and on Budget

  • Performs other related duties as assigned


POSITION REQUIREMENTS (ADVANCED LEVEL FOR ALL THE FOLLOWING UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED)

  • Knowledge of software development lifecycle, systems integration methodologies, and platform optimization best practices.
  • Skilled in serving as a technical owner for an enterprise HRIS platform, with demonstrated experience supporting post-implementation stabilization and ongoing platform optimization.
  • Skilled in APIs, RESTful services, and integration tools used to support enterprise HR systems.
  • Skilled in the Rippling platform, including configuration, optimization, workflows, approvals, automations, reporting, and data structures.
  • Skilled in architecting and optimizing data models, reporting frameworks, and dashboards to support compliance, operational insight, and leadership decision-making.
  • Skilled in the use of Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams), including effective file organization and documentation practices.
  • Ability to translate complex business and HR operational requirements into scalable, maintainable technical solutions.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with HR teams across functional areas to drive process improvements and system maturity.
  • Ability to support and troubleshoot complex platforms, integration, and data-related issues, serving as a technical escalation point.
  • Ability to apply strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with attention to detail and data accuracy.
  • Ability to leverage AI-enabled and emerging technologies to streamline workflows, optimize operational processes, and contribute to continuous improvement.
  • Ability to work successfully in a remote, high-accountability environment with competing priorities, exercising sound judgment, self-direction, and initiative.
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts clearly and effectively to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS

  • Up to 10%, this may include travel to any or all 50 US states.
  • Travel is defined as physically leaving home on behalf of business activities including but not limited to client sites, meetings with other employees, meetings for business development purposes, running errands on behalf of the business, attending industry conferences, etc.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.

PLUS

  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in software engineering, systems integration, or HR technology roles.
  • Experience working with the Rippling platform in a production environment, with demonstrated success optimizing workflows, automations, approvals, reporting, and data architecture.
