Introduction

Accanto Interiors is an international, London-based interior design and construction studio specialising in premium bespoke interiors for residential and commercial clients around the world. We deliver projects from concept through to completion, combining interior design, construction, procurement and bespoke solutions to create highly considered, functional and beautifully executed spaces.

We are now looking for a highly experienced Sales & Business Development professional based in South Africa to join our growing international team.


THIS IS NOT A GENERAL SALES ROLE

We are specifically looking for someone with proven experience selling within the construction, interior design, architecture, fit-out or property sector. The successful candidate must understand how construction and interior design projects are won, how to identify the right decision-makers, how to develop opportunities from an early stage, and how to convert leads into high-value projects.

Experience working with tenders, procurement opportunities, Seractech and Tracker Intelligence is highly desirable.

Key Responsibilities:

  • ⁠Identify and generate new construction, interior design, fit-out, refurbishment and design & build opportunities
  • ⁠Build and manage your own pipeline of residential and commercial projects
  • ⁠Actively research construction projects, tenders, developments and procurement opportunities•⁠ ⁠Use Seractech, Tracker Intelligence and other tender/project intelligence platforms to identify relevant opportunities
  • ⁠Review tender opportunities and support the business with tender applications and submissions
  • ⁠Identify developers, contractors, architects, property companies, hospitality operators and other relevant decision-makers
  • ⁠Conduct high-volume outbound prospecting and cold calling
  • ⁠Arrange and conduct meetings with prospective clients and partners
  • ⁠Develop relationships with key industry contacts and decision-makers
  • ⁠Manage opportunities throughout the full sales cycle
  • ⁠Negotiate and close high-value projects
  • ⁠Follow up consistently with prospects and maintain long-term client relationships
  • ⁠Use AI-powered lead generation and scraping tools to identify and qualify potential opportunities — AI scraping experience is essential
  • ⁠Research new markets and proactively create new business opportunities rather than relying on inbound leads
  • ⁠Work closely with our design and construction teams to ensure client expectations are aligned with our services and capabilities•⁠ ⁠Maintain accurate records of leads, conversations, opportunities and follow-ups•⁠ ⁠Work independently, take ownership of targets and require minimal day-to-day guidance


 

Requirements:

  • ⁠Minimum 5 years of proven sales/business development experience
  • ⁠Strong previous sales experience within construction, interior design, architecture, fit-out, property development or a closely related sector is essential•⁠ ⁠Demonstrable experience generating and closing high-value B2B projects
  • ⁠Experience with construction tenders and procurement opportunities
  • ⁠Experience using Tracker Intelligence and/or Seractech for identifying projects and tender opportunities is strongly preferred
  • ⁠Understanding of the tender process, from identifying an opportunity through to application/submission
  • ⁠Strong experience with cold calling, outbound prospecting and networking
  • ⁠Experience with AI lead-generation and scraping tools
  • ⁠Excellent spoken and written English
  • ⁠Strong negotiation and closing skills
  • ⁠Commercially minded and confident speaking with senior decision-makers
  • ⁠Highly proactive, self-motivated and results-driven•⁠ ⁠Comfortable creating your own pipeline from scratch
  • ⁠Able to work independently without constant guidance
  • ⁠Organised and disciplined with follow-ups and pipeline management
  • ⁠Flexible and able to manage your own schedule in line with client and business requirements- Important

We are not looking for an entry-level salesperson or someone with only general sales experience. We are looking for an experienced industry salesperson who already understands the construction and interiors market and can start actively developing opportunities from day one.
